We provide non-emergency medical transportation across seven counties in Southeast Michigan. Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties are our primary service area, and we also serve St. Clair, Livingston, Washtenaw, and Monroe counties. Our dispatch center is based in Detroit.

What types of transportation do you provide?

We offer two service levels: ambulatory transport for patients who can walk with light assistance, and wheelchair van (WAV) transport in ADA-compliant vehicles with certified drivers trained in securement and safe boarding.

How much does a ride cost?

How do I schedule a ride?

You can book online through our website, or reach dispatch directly by phone or text at (313) 969-6093. Healthcare facilities can also request trips through our Bambi facility portal with live GPS tracking.

What are your hours of operation?

We operate Monday through Saturday, 5 AM to 6 PM. Early morning pickups for dialysis and first appointments of the day are one of our specialties.

Do you handle recurring trips like dialysis appointments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Standing schedules are a core part of what we do. Patients with recurring appointments, such as dialysis three times a week, are assigned consistent drivers so they see a familiar face at the door every visit. If you have regular appointments like dialysis or rehab, our Membership is often the best fit.

Will the driver wait during my appointment?

We offer two return options. With Will-Call Return, your driver comes back within 30 minutes of your call. With Dedicated Wait Time, the first 15 minutes are free, then $10 for every additional 15 minutes.

What is your booking, deposit, and cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

A non-refundable $40 deposit is collected at booking to secure your ride, and the remaining balance is charged after your ride is completed. If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice, only the deposit is forfeited. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or in the event of a no-show where the driver is dispatched and the client is unreachable, the base fee is charged. If your medical provider cancels the appointment and you provide written proof, such as a portal message or office note, your deposit is fully refunded. If you reschedule, your deposit transfers to the new booking.

Do you accept Medicaid or insurance?

At this time we are not able to bill Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance directly. Rides are paid by the rider, their family, or a sponsoring facility. OnCall Couriers is currently in-network with SafeRide Health, MTM, and Modivcare, so if your plan uses any of these three, you can request OnCall Couriers as your preferred provider.

Can a caregiver or family member ride with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. One companion may ride along at no additional charge. Just let us know in advance so we can plan seating.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit and debit cards. Facility accounts may be invoiced with prior approval. Payment is due upon completion of service unless other arrangements have been made.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. OnCall Couriers is fully licensed and insured, and we have been serving Metro Detroit for 12 years. The company is owned by a disabled US Marine Corps veteran.
